072. Day 77. Friday 29th May 2009. YooHoo!

We drive the empty Coaster to Brisbane and hand it over to the dealer’s staff to have an engineer’s inspection carried out. We had arranged to meet our friend Glynnis at the yard then she drove us to the Hyperdome for lunch. Our third visit this week.

G has just recently bought a MH and is ready to start her around Oz trip with her dog, Midget. He is now 13 years old and is deaf and partially blind.

The deal is done and we start the trip home in the Friday afternoon beginning of peak hour traffic. We silently gloat about the bumper to bumper traffic heading south while we zoom northwards. That is, until we get over the Gateway Bridge and join our own bumper to bumper.

The MH is built on an Iveco truck body with a 2.8l turbo diesel, common rail and intercooler motor. It is quiet inside the cabin and we can converse without shouting. A good start.

Oooh! Looky here! We have cruise control. Did not notice that on the test drive. Power windows too. A colour reversing camera. UHF radio. 6 speed gearbox. Adjustable comfortable passenger seat.  Now Donnis can lay her seat back and fall asleep in comfort.

As a reward and a celebration we stop at the Ettamogah Pub for a beer.

This is going to be fun!

Only one sneak preview photo at this stage.
