Monday 7th December
Today starts off about where most days last week started.
We went for a walk along Southport Beach. The walk takes about 45 minutes and involves getting feet wet (sometimes we get caught by a wave up to our waists) and digging feet into the wet sand. Walking across the dry sand to the waterline is great exercise for every muscle in the feet and legs. Hmmm! Perhaps I should learn to walk on my hands and give my left hand a workout.
On the subject of my hand I can say the surgery is all healed. All the muscle, nerves, sinews, cartilage and tendons are still healing. The hand is swollen. Yes there is pain but only low level. That is because I am taking a maximum dose of 300 Mg of Lyrica twice a day. If I am two or so hours late taking my meds, the pain kicks in. Fingertips tingle 24/7. I have been referred to a pain management clinic and will see the Pharmacy expert next week.
Tuesday 8th December
Because I had an 8 am appointment with the hand therapist we did not do our morning walk.
In the afternoon we went for a splash walk along The Broadwater towards Land’s End. The Broadwater, like the ocean beach, has something new to see every day.
Thursday 10th December
The day kicked off just after 6am at Southport Beach. Now I know I may have mentioned this before but even at that time of morning it is difficult finding a parking spot. The beach is crowded.
In the afternoon Donnis son Peter arrived with grandson Chris to drive to Coolangatta Airport. Donnis and Chris flew to Sydney then were collected by Donnis other son Errol and driven to Wollongong for a week. After a 32 degree day a thunderstorm rolled in and delayed the flight for an hour.
Friday 11th December
Another 32 degree day with a thunderstorm accompanied by rain late in the afternoon. My driver…Donnis… is in Wollongong and due to my heavy duty medication I am not allowed to drive. Visits to the beach for a walk will be seriously curtailed.
Sunday 13th December
Not much has happened for the last two days.
I played with editing old and new photos and stayed inside out of the heat during the middle of the days. Although the temp is up around 32 ° there is a nice cool breeze which comes in from the sea and up the creek and keeps us cool. So far I have had no need for air con but once Donnis is home she will probably turn it on. She does not handle the heat at all well.
Hmmm! Not being allowed to drive the car is a big pain in the derriere. I could be using the car to explore.
Donnis is home next week and it is time we got out and about,
